What is Kidney Disease?

According to the National Kidney Foundation, 26 million American adults have kidney disease - and most don't know it. Kidney disease may not be painful and may not cause any symptoms in the beginning. However, kidney disease can be complex because the kidneys perform many functions in the body, including cleaning waste products, regulating blood pressure, producing hormones that help prevent anemia and maintain strong bones.
